Cowboy Music

It's hard to believe that today's youngsters and maybe even their parents have never heard of Gene Autry and Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Probably don't even know who Trigger and Buttercup were.

So much of American culture was shown in the movies! And westerns were very popular when we were growing up. Even early TV had more than its share of cowboy series such as "Have Gun Will Travel" and "The Rifle Man", "Death Valley Days", and "Gunsmoke". Cowboys were tough and rough and not afraid. They protected women and homes and cattle. They wore white hats and fought evil.

The music of the west that I remember was primarily performed by Sons of the Pioneers. Here's a few songs:
