Philosophy Home Page
Philosophy is what you are, not some abstract theory of how or what things should be, dreamed up by some cloistered intellectual.
We, all of us, live - that is, make all our decisions - based to some certain set of beliefs. Those beliefs determine what our moral code is and, as a consequence, what code of ethics we live by.
Linda and I have chosen to live an objective philosophy, as closely as we are able. This philosophy (based on a philosophy named Objectivism by its founder, Ayn Rand) allows us to live a relatively rational life in a relatively irrational society. Notice I don't use any absolutes here - not "a perfect life" or "a completely rational life" - just a relatively rational life. But that puts us head and shoulders above most folks we know. We don't have any problems deciding right from wrong and we don't have any qualms about condemning that which we consider wrong - or praising that which we consider right.
I, Benney, will claim credit (responsibility, maybe?) for this section. The strong and probably controversial opinions expessed here will be mine. While we share basic values (our moral code is basically the same), Linda views reality just a bit differently from me and would thus use different thoughts to express herself.
The menu below will probably take years to get populated. I will work on the different sections as time and inclination allow, but this is a fairly ambitious and complex project so it will most likely proceed at a snail's pace.
